The work isn’t just visual. A brand has to reach an audience, hold up in front of stakeholders, and survive the room it’s presented in. So I think about strategy the way a designer thinks about strategy — as the part of the work that decides whether the design has anywhere to go.
Most brand work fails because the standard moves with the goal. I work the other way around. The standard stays fixed. Everything else moves around it.
Strategy, design, and production are stronger when they’re held in the same head. That takes diligence. Without it, you get three departments pretending to be aligned.
